Benefits for Active-Duty Military, Veterans, and Family

Waldorf University offers a wide range of opportunities to help finance our online degree programs for military students. Waldorf is approved to accept both military tuition assistance (TA) and Veterans Affairs benefits, such as the GI Bill®.

These benefits typically cover the full cost of online degrees for veterans and active-duty military, allowing you to complete up to seven undergraduate or six graduate courses annually within the Department of Defense’s annual ceiling of $4,500. Waldorf also honors the DOD’s semester hour cap rate of $250 for our undergraduate programs, making our online degrees for military students even more accessible. We also offer active-duty graduate level students reduced tuition rate, minimizing any out-of-pocket costs.

As a military-friendly online college, our support extends to the families of those who serve our country. We offer opportunities for military spouses and dependents to achieve their academic goals through programs like Post 9/11 GI Bill® Transferability, the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), and the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship.

Waldorf also awards four scholarships each year to the spouse or child of a National Guard or active military member through our Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship Program.

Transferring Credit Towards Online Degrees for Military Students

Waldorf recognizes the value of prior learning experiences when pursuing degrees for veterans and military. We welcome the opportunity to review academic credit from a variety of sources, including coursework completed at colleges and universities, military training and experience, professional certificates and training programs, credit by examination, and knowledge gained through experiential or equivalent learning. In some cases, non-military work experience may also be considered.

Waldorf’s Office of the Registrar makes the final decision on transferring credits from previously completed college courses, while the ACCEL committee or program director evaluates prior learning and work experience to determine college-level equivalency. Our Warrior Support Center team is available to guide you through the transfer credit process, ensuring a smooth transition into our online degree programs for military students.

We encourage you to review our detailed transfer credit policy to learn more about transfer credit opportunities. Additional information can be found in our University Catalog.
